Unusually...what?

Financial update: OK, I locked into a 5.875% 20 year fixed rate mortgage. I dropped a point in APR, dropped some years, and kept my payment within $20 of my current payment. Woo! I wanted to do a 15 year, but that was a bit too ambitious. The payment would have been $200 more, which I'm not comfortable with at this point*. I even had to pay about an eighth of a point to keep a rate that we'd talked about in the morning. By that evening, it had gone up. Scary. I also locked my HELOC rate at 7.8%. Most of the HELOC and home equity loan rates were around that, anyway. I'll keep looking into other alternatives on that one. I also applied for a 0% intro, 7.9% fixed rate credit card with no annual fee and cash back. The only thing is that cash back is only received if you spend $2500. That's not likely to happen, if I can help it. Incentives like that weren't a priority, anyway.

* and now the Allegra rebate program has been "suspended indefinitely." Fucking hell. $50 copays suck.

I still haven't heard from my sister. I sent her a card for her birthday today. In it I just said that we met almost a year ago and barely know each other, and I'd like to change that. I also said that I'd still like to get together with her, but only if she wants to. We'll see what happens.

I'm working at home today since I'm taking Friday off. I had to turn on the heat because it was 64 degrees in here. Hmm, reminds me of the conference room at work. I'll have to be sure to wear a long sleeved shirt when I walk the fat dog today. And the ridiculous looking earbags. Hey, they work. I thought about just wearing earplugs, but I want to be able to hear if someone is sneaking up on me so's I can pepper spray them. The dog would certainly be no help.

Both of these are from Tickle.com:

Christy, your most unique quality is that you're unusually Conscientious

You are the kind of person others depend on. You're competent, self-disciplined, and able to carry through with any plan you create. You've just got it together. You're also good at weighing the pros and cons of any situation and making sound, well-informed decisions. Compared to others who are conscientious, you are unusually reliable. Only 2.9% of all test takers have this unique combination of personality strengths.

OK, that was a decent one. 'Unusually conscientious,' 'unusually reliable,' eh?

The Body Image Test

You don't compare your body to a sculpture by Michelangelo, but you know you're far from a Kindergarten art project! All in all, you've got a healthy dose of body confidence, and that's a rarity in today's world. You've managed to avoid a significant amount of the pressure that society and the media impose on women. Occasionally, however, you might fall prey to the super-skinny ideal. But your strength and healthy outlook enable you to quickly dismiss that unattainable trend. Whether it's an incredible metabolism or a great mindset, your positive body image allows you to have your cake and eat it too! And if you occasionally turn down the cake for fear of lumps and dimples -- don't fret. It's natural for a woman to be self-critical sometimes, and it's not vain to want to look your best. So, as long as you keep these criticisms in perspective, you're in great shape!

Emphasis mine. Huh? Something went wrong with that one.
